SCHOOL TUITION
Lessons run throughout the school year.
Term 1 - September to December.
Term 2 - January to March.
Term 3 - April to June.
WILL MY CHILD RECEIVE A QUALIFICATION AND HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO PERFORM DURING THE YEAR?
Your child will have the opportunity to achieve a recognised qualification in guitar playing accredited by the London College Of Music. Performing a solo piece or as part of a group can play a major part in developing your child's confidence and building team work skills. Each guitar student will have the opportunity to perform at special school events in front of peers, teachers and family.
HOW LONG ARE THE LESSONS AND ARE THEY INDIVIDUAL OR GROUPED?
This will depend on the school but most guitar lessons last for 30 minutes. School lessons are grouped and students are usually placed with other people from their year group with between 6 - 10 pupils in each class. If there is a lot of interest from a particular year group, the lesson time is extended to compensate for this.
WHAT TYPE AND SIZE OF GUITAR SHOULD I PURCHASE FOR MY CHILD?
A nylon strung 1/2 or 3/4 sized guitar is recommended. Your child will most likely progress a lot faster on a 1/2 or 3/4 sized guitar than on a full sized instrument and this may also increase their desire to learn. A full sized guitar with steel strings is difficult for a child to play and can be very sore on a child's fingers.
WHERE CAN I PURCHASE A GUITAR / ACCESSORIES?
Guitars and accessories can be purchased from a number of different music shops province wide.

It's important to have the items listed below before starting guitar lessons.
- An approved classical guitar
- Robust guitar gigbag
- Plectrums
- Music bag
HOW MUCH DOES A LESSON COST AND HOW DO I PAY?
Each guitar lesson costs £8 and the lesson fee is paid termly.
In term 1 there is an additional charge for an exam/practice book. This book contains the material that is required for the whole year. Other material will be given to your child during the year free of charge.
You will receive an invoice via email once your child has been registered for the lessons. It is important that you provide an email address that you access regularly when registering your child.
Once your child has been registered you can log onto the "Student log In" section on the menu bar to download backing tracks, supporting material and to view your child's weekly practice log.
NB, All lesson fees must be paid for in full before your child attends their first lesson. Lesson fees during school terms are non-refundable. There are no lessons during normal school holidays.
